ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WROC) - As the Bills prepare for the Divisional Round against the Ravens, there's been a lot of discussion about how dangerous Lamar Jackson can be. Especially his ability to keep a play alive. Buffalo's defense has spent the week preparing for the dual-threat quarterback, and Baltimore seems to be planning around the same problem with Josh Allen. Even with the postseason on the line, the mutual respect for each quarterback is off the charts. Just ask Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey his thoughts on playing against Allen. "The play is never really over, and then when he runs, he is a big dude," he said. "He can juke you, but he can run you over and keep running very easily. Just a super tough quarterback to go against." Both quarterbacks excel at extending the play, something Sean McDermott knows is a threat of Jackson's game. "You've got to be ready to play seven, eight seconds per play at least, and maybe then some," McDermott said. "It's going to take a heck of an effort." In the regular season meeting between the two teams, Jackson threw for 156 yards and picked up 54 yards on the ground. Combined with 199 rushing yards from Derrick Henry, the Ravens handed the Bills their first loss of the season. This time around, Buffalo is looking to avoid a similar outcome as Week 4. "You just never know what you're going to get with a guy like that. He's that explosive, you just never know what he's going to do," Taron Johnson said. "Anything can happen, so making sure you're crossing our t's and dotting our i's." Even with week-long preparation from the Bills, Jackson still has the ability to make the defense pay. Being aware of his strengths is one thing, but stopping him is another. "You can know what he does, but there's still the problem of having to stop him," AJ Epenesa said. "He's so fast, so athletic, he's sneaky big. People don't realize how big he is until you're out there on the field with him. He's just such a talented guy, and yeah, you can have a plan and everything set for him. But executing it's a whole other story.'' When Ed Oliver thinks of the Raven's quarterback, one quote sticks out in his mind. "Coach said something that really stuck with me. He was like, 'He's like Kobe Bryant,'" Oliver said. "How you can't necessarily stop Kobe Bryant, Kobe Bryant's going to get his at some point. That was a great analogy. Lamar's going to get his at some point, and we know that, everybody knows that, everybody watching knows that. We just have to limit him." With the Bills' view on Jackson, the Raven's quarterback has a view of his own of Allen. "We're competing against each other," Jackson said. "I'm trying to beat you. I'm not trying to be your friend."
