The Federal Communications Commission has rejected the 2023 petition seeking to deny Philadelphia station FOX29's broadcast license renewal over parent company FOX's coverage of the 2020 election. The government agency also dismissed a complaint against fellow Philly station 6ABC over 2024 election coverage. Jessica Rosenworcel, the outgoing Democratic chairwoman of the FCC, said the moves were made to preserve the First Amendment.
