Survivor of Byhalia police chase crash remains in critical condition

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One of the survivors of a fatal police chase near Byhalia, Mississippi is still in critical condition nearly two weeks later, family says.
Frankie Reid was one of two survivors from a Byhalia Police chase that ended in a crash Jan. 4 just outside of the city limits in Marshall County. Three people died.

Family was too shaken up to go on camera, but sent photos of Reid, before and after the crash.
"He is still in critical condition. We are praying for his recovery," said his sister, Joanne Alexander.

A Byhalia police officer was chasing a GMC Acadia SUV, when it crashed with a pickup truck with four people inside.
The man being pursued, Jaqua Blueitt, and a passenger in the pickup, 63-year-old Michael Crutcher died on the scene.
The driver of that pickup, 43-year-old Angela Davis, died a few days later.

Byhalia police haven’t said why they were chasing Blueitt. But the officer involved, William Langham, has been placed on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.
The two crash survivors are still recovering. One of them is now home.
The other, Reid, still in the hospital. His sister has a message for the public:
I want to remind others to think about how their actions can negatively impact innocent victims," Alexander said. "I'm devastated by the individuals who didn’t survive this accident. My heart goes out to the families wishing them peace and comfort as they face this loss together."
