Starting next school year, summer school tuition is expected to increase by $70 to help cover the cost of programs and financial aid.

The committee also approved meal prices for second servings such as breakfasts, lunches and adult meals. The increases range from 50 cents to $2 to cover the increasing food and operation costs.
However, the committee rejected a proposed increase in student activity fees that would cover the increasing costs of clubs and class dues that help pay for things like prom.
"I do think covering the costs for the students who show need, which I think is a great thing, but I don't think that is enough. I think we're gonna have a population of students who are still not going to be able to pay," said Kahele Dukelow, Board of Education member.
