Jan 16, 2025
We returned to the 60s today with a high of 61. Our peak gust today was only 18 mph, but that is about to change in a big way for Friday. Here's your 9-Hour Forecast for our gusty, dusty Friday with your full forecast below.
TONIGHT: The skies will turn from mostly clear to mostly cloudy overnight. The winds shall stay light and variable at 5-10 mph, and the additional cloud cover will keep us mild with a low of 40.
FORECAST: KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert for Friday due to gusty winds and a dusty haze. Friday will bring a powerful low-pressure system over the Borderland. This will stir up the winds in the afternoon, out of the west-SW at 15-50 mph with the strongest gusts on the east slopes. Expect not only a dusty haze but also a slight chance of a few drops of rain here and there. This could create "mudballs" on the cars. Saturday will be sunny with cooler winds and a high of 58. The NW winds will range from 10-25 mph with no dust. Sunday will be sunny with much lighter winds and a high of 50. Expect a slight chill in the air, especially in the morning. Monday will be sunny and 55. With light winds, Monday will be a nearly perfect day. Tuesday will be partly cloudy and warmer with a high of 56. Wednesday will bring sunshine and warmer breezes with a high of 61.
