ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Technology company and defense contractor L3Harris has been awarded a significant contract from New York State. In a press release, the company says that the contract award is valued at $150 million over 20 years. The company is set to provide significant communication technology upgrades along the New York State thruway, mainly in terms of interoperability upgrades. This new hardware will allow different agencies to better communicate with each other along the nearly 600 miles of thruway: particularly in high traffic and significant weather events.
