MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A Madera man will spend decades behind bars for kidnapping a woman and putting her in a trunk before assaulting her. On Thursday, Otis McKinzy was sentenced to 239 years to life in prison after police say he kidnapped and carjacked his victim using a sharp object in March 2024 - and then sexually assaulted the victim. The victim was able to escape from the vehicle and seek help in Modesto. Suspect did not know victim in Madera kidnapping, sexual assault, police say McKinzy was later arrested by the Elk Grove Police Department following his victim's escape. On Thursday morning, a jury found McKinzy guilty of kidnapping and sexual assault and several charges following the incident. Prosecutors say McKinzy was living in his car near the victim's home before the incident. According to the Madera County District Attorney's Office, McKinzy will not be eligible for parole due to the three-strikes law.
