FOXBORO, Mass. (WPRI) — The parent of a hockey player will be facing "several criminal charges" after allegedly assaulting two referees at the Foxboro Sports Center earlier this month, according to police. Police said the incident happened the night of Jan. 4 during a hockey game at the East Belcher Road facility. Investigating officers reviewed game footage and cell phone recordings of the incident, and also interviewed both referees and several witnesses. Police said as a result of that investigation, the parent will be issued a summons to appear in Wrentham District Court at a later date. The parent will not be identified until probable cause for the charges is determined. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox. Subscribe Now Daily Roundup SIGN UP NOW
