PONCA CITY, Okla. (KFOR) — Ponca City East Middle School and Ponca City High School will be moving to virtual learning on Friday due to an "extreme number of staff and student illnesses" around both schools. Ponca City Public Schools says out of 1,412 high school students, more than 500 students were absent on Thursday. All staff members who are not ill are expected to report across the district on Friday, including East Middle School and Ponca City High School staff. In-person learning is expected to be held at all other school sites.
