MUNCIE, Ind. — An 18-year-old in Muncie faces a total of 60 years in prison for dealing a fatal fentanyl dose to a 17-year-old.
Publicly available online court records show that Jaxon W. Engle, 18, was sentenced to 30 years on Tuesday for dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death (Level 1 Felony). On top of this, he received an additional 30 years for aiding, inducing or causing dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death (Level 1 felony).
According to previous reports, this sentence comes from a September 2023 incident. Here, Engle — then 17 — dealt fentanyl to another 17-year-old named Kamron Lacy. That deal turned out to be fatal for Lacy.

Reports show that Engle purchased a counterfeit M30 pill, laced with fentanyl, from a 25-year-old man named Ricky Taylor. Since then, Taylor has been sentenced to 41 years behind bars.
