Former Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson's chief of staff shot at church in WinstonSalem

(WGHP) — The former chief of staff for former Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson was shot at a church in Winston-Salem, according to police.
Krishana Polite was the first Black female chief of staff to serve the N.C. Lieutenant Governor's Office in state history. Robinson called her appointment "a historic moment."
At about 12:10 a.m. on Jan. 1, police responded to a shooting at St. Peter's Church & World Outreach Center, located at 3683 Old Lexington Road in Winston-Salem.
At the scene, officers found Krishana Polite suffering from a gunshot wound.
Medical, fire and police officials rendered aid until EMS arrived. Polite was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
