FOREST ACRES, S.C. (WOLO)– Forest Acres has arrested a person officers say is responsible for the 6 fires that happened on Sunday, Jan. 13.
The fires happened between the hours of 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Old Mill Circle and Lakeview Circle area, off Trenholm Road.
The fires did not result in any injuries or structural damage, according to Forest Acres Police Department.
The suspect was taken into custody and taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice (SCDJJ).
“The outstanding work of our patrol officers during these incidents allowed FAPD to manage the fires alongside the Columbia Fire Department and to quickly identify a suspect. Forest Acres Detectives were able to make contact with the juvenile’s family and encouraged the suspect to take accountability. I am glad we were able to bring this situation to a quick conclusion” said FAPD Chief Don Robinson.
