COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– A customer at a Manning convenience store won $500,000 after they asked the clerk to pick out a lottery ticket, said officials.
SC Lottery officials said a clerk at the Carolina Pantry on the Sumter Hwy, chose a $10 Shimmering Riches scratch-off for the customer.
Before scratching the ticket, the player thought, “let it be the big one”, according to a press release.
And a big one it was because the ticket won them the next to last top prize of half-a-million dollars in the game.
“I fell to my knees. This has changed my life,” the winner told lottery officials.
The odds of winning $500,000 in the Shimmering Riches game are 1 in 1,128,000.
The Carolina Pantry #8 in Manning received a commission of $5,000 for selling the claimed ticket.
