BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — A 15-year-old boy faces multiple charges after a gun was found on Woodlawn High School's campus Thursday morning. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office responded to a call around 11 a.m. about a gun found in a 15-year-old student's jacket pocket. Deputies said a student told school officials about the loaded gun. The school was searched and no other weapons were found. "The student claimed he forgot he had the gun with him when he went to school," EBRSO said. The student was charged with illegal carrying of a firearm on school property, firearm-free zone, illegal possession of a stolen firearm and illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile. Students with information about this incident can notify a school administrator or contact the sheriff's office at 225-389-5000 or Crime Stoppers at 225-377-7867.
