Local artist Gary Mullen used to drive past the stadiums and always see a graffiti-covered wall surrounded by trash where MLK Blvd. passes over Russell St. Dismayed by its appearance in a location where thousands of drivers pass every day, he thought, “I need to do something with that wall.”And, he did just that. In October 2024, Mullen completed a crab-themed mural at the location.Mullen began his research in early 2022 and then contacted the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA).
