Virginia nonprofit uses music therapy to build community, hope

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Creating community, belonging, and hope through music therapy, performance and expressive arts. That is the mission of A Place to Be.
The creative arts non-profit has been providing services to children and adults in Northern Virginia for the last 14 years."A place to be is really for anyone who feels they need a safe space in the community, our services really cater to children and adults with special needs. But this is a hub for anyone in the community," said Kyle Boardman, Artistic Manager, A Place to Be.

A Place to Be offers music therapy, art enrichment and does inclusive children's theatre productions.
"Over the past 10 years we've written close to 16 original children's musical productions," said Boardman.
Artistic Manager Kyle Boardman said it is wonderful to see the children grow and become more confident on stage.
"It's incredibly heartwarming and rewarding to get to watch their journeys over the years, It's inspiring and what keeps me coming back every day," added Boardman.
A Place to Be offers several different types of programs and summer camps.
