Light snow will arrive Thursday afternoon into the evening in southeastern Pennsylvania and southern New Jersey, according to area forecasters. The National Weather Service is predicting less than an inch of snow but does acknowledge the possibility of 1-2 inches of accumulation in some areas. AccuWeather is predicting the snow to last for three to six hours and notes roads could be slippery for the evening commute. AccuWeather says the lows tonight in the region will be 21 to 24 degrees, and the high Friday will be around 40 degrees. “Following the system`s departure tonight, temperatures will fall to the upper 10s to mid 20s as skies clear out overnight,” NWS forecasters stated. For Friday into Saturday, temperatures will increase and precipitation, likely in the form of rain, will move in. “The story of this period will be the relative warmth (especially as compared to what will be coming in the long term),” the NWS said. “Thanks to developing low level southerly flow, temperatures on Friday will be near normal, with highs in the lower 30s to lower 40s. By Saturday, temperatures will be slightly above normal with highs from the mid 30s to upper 40s.” Some snow Sunday afternoon is forecast as an arctic blast moves into the area. The NWS is predicting the snow event Sunday to be minor. AccuWeather says Sunday will be “rather cloudy with a bit of snow in the afternoon; there is the potential for accumulating snow and slippery travel.”
