RUSSELL, Mass. (WWLP) - Multiple crews from area departments worked to put out a shed fire in Russell on Wednesday.
In a social media post by the Russell-Montgomery Police Department, crews were called at around 11:38 a.m. to South Quarter Road for a report of a shed fire. Upon arrival, a wood shed near a house was on fire. Efforts by officers, the homeowner, and passersby, were made to keep the fire contained before firefighters showed up.

The fire was put out with the help of Russell, Huntington, and Chester fire departments, the Hilltown Community Ambulance Association, and the Massachusetts State Police. The fire did not spread to the nearby house.
