Noteworthy: Rodriguez Romero continued her strong campaign by capturing the 100-pound individual championship at the Riverside County Girls Championships at Jurupa Valley High School. She advanced to the championship round with three victories via pinfall and then claimed the title with a 30-13 technical fall over Hesperia’s Cle-Ana Paz. Rodriguez Romero racked up those points with seven takedowns, five near-fall points and two reversals. Last month, Rodriguez Romero placed fourth in the 105-pound bracket of the prestigious Queen of the Hill Invitational in Corona.
