Bicyclist dead following MidCity crash: NOPD

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal crash in Mid-City involving a bicyclist.
Around 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, NOPD officers were called to the scene of a crash in the 3200 block of Tulane Avenue.

Responding officers arrived on the scene and learned a woman was bicycling in the area when she was struck by a passing vehicle.
She was declared dead on the scene, according to NOPD.
The driver remained at the scene during the ongoing investigation.

No further details are available at this time. The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the woman's identity after an autopsy is done and the family is notified.
