Memphis River Parks Partnership names interim CEO

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Memphis River Parks Partnership announced the organization's interim CEO following the departure of president and CEO Carol Coletta.
Art Davis, MRPP's current COO will act as the organization's CEO until the search for a permanent CEO is completed. He will remain in his current position while also taking the new, temporary one.

According to MRPP, as COO, Davis oversees all aspects of operational and financial management for the non-profit that runs the riverfront on the Mississippi River.
He has previously served as Vice President of Finance and Operations for women’s retailer Holliday’s and as Director of Finance for the Memphis Redbirds Baseball Foundation.
Davis has been a member of the MRPP team for six years, and during that time he has secured $3.7 million in federal EDA grants, $800,000 in state TDEC grants, and $3 million in federal government USACE earmark funding, according to MRPP.
He has also managed $85.6 million in construction projects over that period.
"The board fully supports Art in this interim role, and we remain committed to a thoughtful process to identify the next visionary leader for Memphis River Parks Partnership," said Shanea McKinney, board chair. "We appreciate Art being willing to take on these additional responsibilities as the search continues for the right CEO."

Coletta was president and CEO of Memphis River Parks Partnership from 2017 until her departure in January 2025.
“The next seven years of work will be just as tough as the last seven. But the results will have as much impact – maybe more – than anything we’ve done to date. This is an intense and rewarding job for someone who will start and finish this work and who will own it all the way to completion,” Coletta said.
