LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department has issued a rabies alert after a skunk found earlier this week in the Stone Creek-Willow Oaks neighborhoods tested positive for rabies. Health officials have posted signs in the area to notify residents. While there is no evidence that the skunk had contact with neighborhood animals, the health department is reminding pet owners to ensure their pets are up to date on rabies vaccinations as a precaution. Residents with concerns or questions are encouraged to contact the health department at (859) 252-2371.
