AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Fire Department said crews rescued 10 puppies and their mother after a fire broke out at a northwest Austin house. AFD said all the animals appear to be doing OK. Crews extinguished the fire, which AFD said kept to the garage and resulted in minimal damage to the rest of the house. Inside the garage, crews found and rescued the 10 puppies and their mother. According to AFD, the cause of the fire was attributed to space heaters, which crews said were too close to combustibles.
