Paid parking via QR code implemented at Downtown Willoughby parking lot
Jan 16, 2025
New QR code parking meters have recently been installed in the privately-owned Glenn Avenue parking lot in Downtown Willoughby.
According to a Downtown Willoughby Bar and Restaurant Association Facebook post, the restaurants on the perimeter of the lot do not own the lot and are not responsible for the fees associated with it. Additionally, Willoughby does not own, manage or collect fees for the lot.
With the lot now being a paid parking location, with fees collected through the HonkMobile app, the revenue from the parking meters will be going to the owners and operators of the lot.
The Bar and Restaurant Association has provided the following instructions for using HonkMobile:
• Download the app at App Store or Google Play.
• Register with an email address, phone number and license plate number.
• Add payment information.
• Login and choose zone 54501 for Willoughby.
• Select an amount of time and pay.
A receipt will be emailed.

Those parking in the lot will be able to find signage and scan the QR code or text 54501 to 75498. Alerts can be received when the amount of time to park is close to expiring. Time may also be extended.
For free parking options, Willoughby offers:
• The City Hall parking lot
• Willoughby Municipal Courthouse lot
• Todd Field parking lots
• The lot behind the Willoughby Area Welcome Center.
According to the city, additional spots are available at the Willoughby Public Library parking lot, but the first two rows are reserved for library patrons and are marked with signs.
Street parking along Erie Street, Clark Avenue, River Street and side streets are also free parking locations.
“We encourage visitors to utilize these free parking options while enjoying everything Downtown Willoughby has to offer,” a Willoughby Facebook post reads.
