Mike was the oldest son of George and Grace Murn. He had just turned seventy-six years old. George is predeceased by his sister Cathy Fairchild (Geoff) of New Hampshire and his brother Mark Murn. He is survived by his beloved wife Pam, his two sons Michael Murn and Nicholas Murn (Jenness), his sistersTerri Crosson of MA and Marcy Pravetz (Ken) of Virginia Beach VA, six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and many others whose lives he touched with warmth and kindness.George spent the last eight years of his life in St. George VT, but before moving to the beautiful state of Vermont, he spent most of his life in New Jersey, with a brief sojourn on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. George worked for The Bell System that later became Verizon before retiring after thirty-three years. He had his own small home repair business for a few years before relocating to the eastern shore in the picturesque town of Rock Hall MD. While living in Rock Hall George became dock master for Haven Harbour Marina, a paradise for boat lovers. In 2012 George and his wife moved back to their home state of NJ and eventually settling down in St. George VT. Since George always had to be busy and loved being by the water, he started working for LCT on the deck, loading and unloading cars as they made the twenty-five minute trip across Lake Champlain to the New York side in Essex. He then transitioned into the ticket booth where he took tickets and chatted with the passengers before they boarded the ferry. He loved his job with the ferry, and he loved working with the crew and his fellow ticket booth employees.Know for his extraordinary ability to connect with people wherever he went, George had a gift for making friends. His genuine nature and positive impact on those around him will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
