The Bills (and fans) are no strangers to cold weather during a postseason run. This Sunday's game will be a reminder of what WNY is capable of in mid January. An arctic air mass is set to ooze into the United States next week. Sunday will be something of a transition day from a Saturday thaw to the arrival of that arctic air. Temperatures will be steadily dropping Sunday as the leading edge of this bitterly cold air bleeds southward. By gametime, air temperatures will be in the teens (likely lower teens) and could try and sneak into the single digits toward the end of the game. While it won't be windy, per se, there will be enough of a breeze to cut the teens into the single digits and near zero at times in the wind chill department. Put bluntly, it's going to be cold. Snow will likely not be a factor as only a few light snow showers will be around, which should not meaningfully impact the game or travel to/from Highmark. These are raw Euro wind chill values for the morning of January 21st, exactly one week from today. That's still a healthy amount of time into the future, but the Euro has been consistent. There's cold and then there's COLD. This is the latter. pic.twitter.com/cQwrGI49yL— Eric Snitil (@EricSnitilWx) January 14, 2025 Brutal cold will continue to spill into WNY Sunday night and early next week when the core of that arctic air arrives. Morning temperatures by Tuesday will be close to zero with wind chills of -10 to -20 degrees likely for many.
