Pilot arrested for DUI at Savannah Hilton Head International Airport

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A Southwest flight from Savannah to Chicago was delayed for five hours Wednesday morning due to a pilot being arrested and charged with DUI, officials said.
The pilot, David Allsop, 52, was removed from the aircraft at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport and taken to the Chatham County jail.
He is charged with driving under the influence, according to jail records, and granted a $3,500 bond.

Allsop has been removed from duty, a Southwest representative said.
Southwest Airlines released an updated statement around 4 p.m. to WSAV:
"We're aware of a situation involving an Employee on Flight 3772 this morning from Savannah. The Employee has been removed from duty. Customers were accommodated on other flights and we apologize for the disruption to their travel plans. There's nothing more important to Southwest than the Safety of our Employees and Customers."
When contacted, Southwest Airlines issued this statement to WSAV:
"Southwest is aware of an incident that resulted in the delay of one of our flights in Savannah this morning. We apologize to our Customers for the delay, and worked to get them their destinations as quickly as possible. Southwest takes this incident seriously. The Employee in question has been removed from duty and Southwest is reviewing what occurred. Nothing is more important than the Safety of our Customers and Employees."
