Man arrested, charged in connection with 2022 homicide: Savannah Police say

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A man has been arrested and charged in connection to a 2022 homicide, police said on Wednesday.
Donzel Chambers, 34, was taken into custody Jan 14. and charged with murder, the Savannah Police Department (SPD) said. His charges are connected to the homicide of Diontae Roberson, officials report.
When Roberson was reported missing to police on Aug. 12, 2022, his disappearance was deemed suspicious and a criminal case was opened, police said.
Roberson's remains were identified with the help of the FBI after they were found on Feb. 9, 2024, in a wooded area on Wild Heron Road.
Police determined his death to be a homicide.
