ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – The Roswell Fire Department has selected a new fire chief. Steve Chavez got into firefighting more than twenty years ago when he became a member of the Dexter Volunteer Fire Department. BLM to host wild horse, burro adoption event in Las Cruces On Monday, Chavez was named the new chief of the Roswell department. He was the department's division chief for training for the last three years. Chavez will replace retiring Chief Matt Miller.
