MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Police are looking for a dancing bandit who has held up at least seven businesses over the last month. MPD has released video of the suspect ,who has robbed four different Metro PCS stores, a Cricket and a Dollar General. Investigators said in each of the robberies, the man entered the business either singing to himself or dancing, pretended to be a customer, and then robbed the place. The most recent robbery happened Tuesday morning at the Metro by T-Mobile in the 4000 block of Elvis Presley. He said the suspect came in and asked about iPhone deals before pulling a weapon on his worker and forcing him inside a safe. "He forced the employee to sit on the ground, took some money from the register, and took him to the back. He asked where the safe was and where the iPhones were kept, and then when he went to the safe," he said. "He forced the employee to crawl into the safe and tried to lock him in the safe, but he was unsuccessful." The suspect told the worker to stay inside until he left the store and took some empty iPhone boxes. Other employees working the business Wednesday said the robber needs to be caught before someone gets hurt. "He has a gun. He has a gun," said a Metro PCS worker. The suspect fled the area on foot.
