Jack Hoffman (Courtesy: UNKearney on X)LINCOLN–(KFOR Jan. 15)–A beloved Husker fan who battled brain cancer and famously scored a touchdown during the 2013 spring game has died. Jack Hoffman, 19, died early Wednesday morning, according to a spokeswoman with the Team Jack Foundation, a nonprofit helping battle pediatric brain cancer. In the 2013 Nebraska Spring Game in front of more than 60,000 Husker fans, Hoffman, who was 7-years-old, scored a 69-yard touchdown. The viral moment gained national media attention and put a spotlight on the efforts of the Team Jack Foundation. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Atkinson Community Center, with visitation on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church.
