Cold air continues to affect the area today but, a warm-up is coming within the next 24 hours, along with more snow A light total snow amount is expected Thursday. However, the snow may fall rapidly/heavily at times. Our evening temps start near 20° and fall to the upper single digits over the course of the nighttime. The next snow-producing weather system arrives after midnight, bringing more scattered snow showers. The snow showers continue during the day Thursday. While the snow may fall at a heavy pace, at times, total snow amounts will be light = 1" or less across the entire region. Temps increase tonight into tomorrow morning. Our Thursday sky is cloudy with this next system moving through. Conditions will be much warmer than recent days with highs reaching the low 30s. Windy periods start up on Thursday and will continue, at times, through Saturday. Top gusts will be around 30 mph. Snow showers are on the way overnight tonight and continue on Thursday Conditions on Friday will be warmer than what we experience Thursday. Friday's highs will be in the mid-30s. Overnight into Saturday, our next system brings rain and snow showers, and the chance for some sleet, too. Highs will be in the mid-30s and falling during the day. The rain/snow/sleet chances move out by the evening. Area travel early in the day may end up being impacted as the precipitation falls. Rain, snow, sleet possible Saturday morning. Precip chances decrease by evening. Temperatures begin to fall significantly Sunday as more arctic air moves into the area. Sunday's high temps (occurring in the morning) will be in the mid-teens. The temperatures will fall during the day and end up below zero for Monday morning. Monday and Tuesday's high temps will only be in the single digits. Like Monday morning, Tuesday morning will, also, experience temperatures falling below zero. On Monday and Tuesday, wind chill values are expected to be below zero all day long and will be as low as -10° to -20°. Plan ahead to not have to be outside much on these days. Frostbite will set in very quickly on exposed skin. Temperatures will slowly moderate by the end of next week with high temperatures reaching back to the 20s on Thursday. Tonight: Becoming cloudy.
