A new Jamaican restaurant is coming to Baltimore Peninsula.Blü Cā, pronounced “blue kay,” is expected to open in early 2026 and will cover 4,600 square feet on the ground floor of the 254-unit Rye House apartment building. The business will be operated by One Love Restaurant Group, which also owns other Caribbean-inspired eateries, including their flagship restaurant, Island Spice, in Edgewood; as well as KŌNŌKŌ in White Marsh.“We had a vision for what would ultimately become Blü Cā for quite some time now, but when we found the perfect space at Baltimore Peninsula, that’s really when it came together,” said One Love Restaurant Group’s Sandy Tucker. “The restaurant’s waterfront setting will perfectly align with the island vibe and mouthwatering dishes we’ll be serving.” “We can’t wait to welcome residents of Baltimore and visitors from all over to celebrate our Jamaican-rich culinary heritage and the entire One Love experience,” added One Love Restaurant Group’s Jazz Tucker. The restaurant group has signed a retail lease with the Baltimore Peninsula development team. The team is led by MAG Partners and MacFarlane Partners, with investments from Under Armour founder Kevin Plank and his Sagamore Ventures investment firm and Goldman Sachs Asset Management Urban Investment Group.“It’s not every day that the opportunity arises to work with incredibly talented and experienced restaurateurs to bring a new concept to life. What One Love Restaurant Group is creating with Blü Cā represents all we have ever hoped for Baltimore Peninsula: that our spaces and setting on the water would become a source of inspiration and innovation. I’ll be counting down the days until I can visit,” said MaryAnne Gilmartin, Founder and CEO of MAG Partners. The Blü Cā name refers to the restaurant’s location along the waterfront (Blü) and low island or reef (Cā) which represents the restaurant’s Jamaican culture. Guests will be able to dine indoors or outdoors, where they will enjoy authentic, made-to-order Jamaican food. Dishes are made to share with the table and include a blend of Jamaican and international flavors for what the owners call “Reggae Fusion.”Blü Cā will join several other restaurants and businesses that call Baltimore Peninsula home, including the newly opened Slutty Vegan and Bar Vegan, as well as Rye Street Tavern by Clyde’s Restaurant Group, and Vessel and Little Wing at ROOST Baltimore by Method Co.Other food and beverage businesses set to open in Baltimore Peninsula include Slurp Noodle Bar, Ben & Jerry’s, Urbano Tex-Mex, Baltimore coffee shop Daily Grind, and Jersey Mike’s.
