'Know Your Rights' forums continue after Border Patrol's 'Return to Sender' operation ends

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- The U.S. Border Patrol's "Return to Sender" operation ended last week in Kern County, but that hasn't stopped immigration rights advocates from hosting "Know Your Rights" forums around the county.
The forums serve as a chance for community members to get resources and advice from legal counsel, attorneys, organizations and community experts.

Tuesday nights forum took place at the Farmworkers Institute of Education and Leadership Development on South Union Avenue.
The next forum will be held Thursday, Jan. 16 in Arvin at Faro Church. The forum will begin at 6 p.m. at 500 Campus Drive.
Another forum is scheduled for 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 at the Gurudwara Guru Dashmesh Darbar located at 7000 Wible Rd. in south Bakersfield. Punjabi translation will be available.

The forums continue before President-elect Donald Trump takes office on Monday. Trump has promised to carry out mass deportations once he's in the White House.
