HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- Police in Howard County are investigating a deadly shooting after a person was found inside a vehicle on Tuesday night. According to the Howard County Police Department (HCPD), the shooting happened on Jan. 14, in Columbia. Police said that around 8:30 p.m., units responded to the 6000 block of Helen Dorsey Way for a suspicious call. Cold emergency alert prompts Montgomery County schools to move activities indoors Once on the scene, officers found a person with at least one gunshot wound in the driver's seat of a parked vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's name has not yet been released as of Wednesday morning. Howard County police are still working to learn what time the shooting took place. However, HCPD said the incident does not appear to be random. Anyone with information that can help lead detectives is asked to call 911.
