ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Fairport native will be performing the National Anthem at the Bills' next playoff game! Lucas West is a junior at SUNY Fredonia School of Music. Lucas, a Jazz Studies major studying voice, piano, and trombone, is involved in the Fedonia Jazz Orchestra, New Jazz Flextet, and the Trombone Choir, and sings in the Vocal Jazz Combo. Lucas sang the National Anthem at a Bills game before — that was back in November 2023 when the Bills faced the Jets. He had to audition for the part, but he ended up securing it! Before the Bills wild card game against the Broncos, the team sent an email to Lucas inviting him back to perform the National Anthem for the game. Lucas was unable to sing in that game due to being out of the country. Fortunately, the Bills agreed to let Lucas play in the divisional round — and is scheduled to sing at the Bills vs. Ravens game this upcoming Sunday! More information about the Bills vs. Ravens game can be found here.
