$218,000 collected by 2024 Winter Wonderland light show in Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) - A Topeka organization dedicated to caring for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities raised more than $200,000 during a recent fundraiser.
Mandi Wells with TARC announced in a press release on Jan. 15 that her organization collected more than $218,000 during its 27th annual Winter Wonderland drive-thru light show at Lake Shawnee. From Nov. 27 to Dec. 31, more than 8,300 vehicles rolled through the display, helping the organization gather cash to support its work in the community for the future.
"We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our sponsors, Shawnee County Parks and Recreation, and every volunteer who contributed their time and effort to Winter Wonderland. Your generosity and dedication make it possible for us to continue this beloved community tradition."

Wells said all the cash raised at Winter Wonderland go towards helping TARC care for and support more than 2,500 children, families and adults in Topeka and Shawnee County. More than 350 volunteers helped TARC run the light show in 2024. Learn more about TARC's mission by heading to its website.
