NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WPRI) — Ten people were forced from their home late Tuesday night after a fire broke out in New Bedford. Crews responding to Cedar Grove Street around 11:30 p.m. found heavy fire coming from the second floor of the home. There was a report two residents were trapped inside but officials said they were later accounted for. "City of New Bedford DPI responded with sanders due to the icy conditions on the fireground," the fire department wrote on Facebook. One firefighter was injured and treated on scene. Five adults and five children have been displaced and all four pets were found. It's unclear what caused the fire at this time. Close Thanks for signing up! Watch for us in your inbox.
