NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — It's a class with class. And it sure smells like something good is cooking. It's been going on in an old biology lab now for a year. Homelessness to teaching her own King Cake Class At Warren Easton Charter High School, WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood invites you into the culinary program for a sneak peek at the menu. The teacher is Matt Young a chef with a culinary degree and a veteran of the classroom with 25 years in education. "My kids come in this classroom, it's their classroom because like I tell them you cook with love and it comes from the bottom of your heart so that's why they love to come in here and do what they do," said Young. Warren Easton senior and soon-to-be chef Rashad Robertson says becoming a chef is to make people smile. From here the next step for students is culinary college or a real job at a real restaurant.
