Lincoln Police Cruiser (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Jan. 15)–A reported assault and robbery in central Lincoln early Wednesday morning is under investigation. The call came out to Lincoln Police around 4:30am Wednesday in the area of 27th and “W” Streets. LPD Public information manager Erika Thomas says 47-year-old man said he borrowed the van from an acquaintance and was meeting to return it to him. When the victim got out of the van, the suspect showed a rusty machete and swung it at the victim, cutting his left elbow and then sprayed mace or something similar in his face. Some of the victim’s belongings were left in the van that was taken by the suspect. The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of an arm laceration. The suspect is described as a man in his 50s, wearing a sweater and pants, driving a red Chevy caravan.
