GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — A Greenville man has been accused of murdering his neighbor and two other people in separate but connected, shootings on Friday.
The suspect, David H. Lever, is in jail without bond at the Pitt County Detention Center. The Pitt County Sheriff's Office had a press conference on the crime Monday morning.

At the press conference, Sheriff Paula Dance went over the timeline of events and identified the victims. She said Enrique Reyes and Anthony and Paula Gribble were targeted tragically in the string of crimes.
Sheriff Dance said around 1:40 pm Friday afternoon, Lever was seen leaving Reyes' home. Lever lived only a few houses down from Reyes on Forest Acres Drive in Greenville.
Reyes was later found dead in his driveway from multiple gunshot wounds. Sheriff Dance said Lever then went to a Speedway traveling North on N.C. Highway 43, firing gunshots.
This is when the sheriff's office received the first tip. Lever then arrived at the home of Anthony and Paula Gribble, who were found dead with multiple gunshot wounds.
Deputies later arrested Lever with the help of Gribble's son, T.D., who had Lever at gunpoint.
"I love him. I love him. My dad was my hero. My mom really became my hero as I got older and I had kids and I realized what it meant to have to provide and take care of," T.D. Gribble said. "And I realized how much she sacrificed. And then she became my road buddy when it was time to go to a football game. I just love my parents. Love them immensely. And our world here in Greenville. My boy's world. Our church community. It's all, It's all changed."
According to the Pitt County Sheriff's Office, this is not the first time that they have had to deal with Lever. They previously responded to his home for a domestic violence dispute.
Sheriff Dance said they also took at least 50 guns from the crime scenes, including from Lever's house.
Lever is a local realtor in Greenville. There is no knowledge of his motive at this time. This is an ongoing investigation that will be continuously updated.
