BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- High pressure stays in control today with a northerly flow aloft, keeping us calm and clear, but there's not enough wind in the valley to clear the haze today. So expect hazy upper 60s for Bakersfield and the valley cities today, with cold 30s again overnight. The Kern River Valley and Kern Desert will see low to mid-60s this afternoon, with low 50s in the south mountains of Tehachapi and Frazier Park. To our south, the Santa Ana winds continue for one more day, before calmer conditions are expected by tomorrow as a low pressure system to our south finally moves out. With high pressure becoming the dominant weather trend Friday through the weekend, expect dry conditions and temperatures to remain well above average. Unfortunately the long range forecast still doesn't show any rain in sight, as the state plunges into drought conditions once again.
