Man robs CVS in Merced, flees on bicycle, police say

MERCED, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A man has been arrested following a robbery at a pharmacy in Merced, the Merced Police Department said.
Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at a CVS Pharmacy on Tuesday, at around 10:11 a.m. in Merced.
Police say the suspect, described as a Hispanic man wearing dark clothing, held a store clerk at gunpoint and stole a significant amount of cash from the register before fleeing the area on a bicycle.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., detectives say they located an individual matching the suspect's description in the 1400 block of Louise Avenue while searching the area. The individual was wearing the same clothing and was found with the same bicycle seen in surveillance footage.
Upon further investigation, officers say the suspect, identified as 26-year-old Miguel Valencia, was found in possession of a large amount of cash and an airsoft handgun. He was arrested and booked into the Merced County Jail under suspicion of armed robbery.
