(KRON) -- A man is in custody in connection with the vandalism of the City of Campbell's water tower, police said. The water tower has been vandalized three times since Christmas. Campbell police responded to the water tower at about 2:25 a.m. on Sunday after it was reported that there was a person on top of it. Image from the Campbell Police Department shows the vandalism suspect. Officers ordered the person to get down from the tower, but he did not comply. He finally climbed down at about 4:40 a.m. He tried to run away but was caught by police. The water tower was previously vandalized on Dec. 26 and Jan. 9. Police did not describe what, if anything, was written on the structure but said the suspect caused "damage." Mother convicted of mayhem after girl, 2, burned in San Francisco "We take great pride in our city and its landmarks," said Campbell Police Chief Gary Berg. "Thanks to an observant community member who reported seeing the individual on the water tower, we were able to safely apprehend the suspect and hold him accountable for his actions." The suspect was identified as Briley Bodemar, 24, of San Jose. He was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism, possession of graffiti tools, and resisting arrest. The city's public works department worked to "restore" the damage, police said.
