TOPEKA (KSNT) - A new exhibit has pulled into the Kansas Children's Discovery Center.  "Thomas and Friends: Explore the Rails" is making a stop in the capital city.  Originally from the Minnesota Children's Museum, this exhibit offers science-based learning allowing kids the opportunity to get up close and hands-on with trains.  Flint Hills Discovery Center names new director "It of course tells the story of Thomas and talks about the development of the stories and the history of that, but it also talks about science principles," Laura Burton, Kansas Children's Discovery Center, said. "How do you build a ramp? How do you fix a wobbly wheel? How do you make a train go? These sorts of things that are exciting for kids and great ways to learn science."  The exhibit will open Friday, January 17, 2025 and will leave the station on Sunday,May 11, 2025.
