(SOUTHERN COLORADO) — Elected officials in El Paso and Pueblo counties took the oath of office on Tuesday, Jan. 14. At Centennial Hall in Colorado Springs, El Paso County officials as well as district and court judges were sworn in, including District 2 Commissioner, Carrie Geitner, District 3 Commissioner Bill Wysong, District 4 Commissioner, Cory Applegate, and 4th Judicial District Attorney Michael Allen. "It's important to note that nobody here... whether newly elected officials, a returning one, or a judge, was given their position by birthright," said Ryan Parsell, Chief Public Information Officer with El Paso County. "Instead, all our citizens who felt the calling to serve ran or pursued their position, and will serve within the constraints of our constitutional democratic republic." 4th Judicial District Attorney Michael Allen takes the oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony on Jan. 14, 2025.
