ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (WCBD)—Isle of Palms city council members met Tuesday night to discuss several agenda items, including changing the city’s current parking fee structure. The resolution discussed at the Isle of Palms City Council workshop meeting proposes changing rates for the municipal lots and on-street parking between 10th and 14th Avenues from March to October. The rates for municipal lots on Pavilion Drive would be $10 per vehicle during March, April, September, and October. During the busy season of Labor Day through Memorial Day, costs would be $15 per vehicle Monday through Friday and $25 Saturday, Sunday, and on holidays. Hourly rates for on-street parking would be $3. A seasonal business parking permit for Front Beach employees to park would be $60, and a weekly general public parking permit would be $100. Council members agreed to push the resolution to the next meeting in February. If approved, then the rates will go into effect March 1.
