Ohio State trailed by 17 at halftime and rallied to get within a possession in the final minute, but it was too little, too late in a 70-68 loss to visiting Wisconsin on Jan. 14. Down, 65-57, with 2:19 left, Bruce Thornton started a 9-2 run with a pair of free throws. Micah Parrish’s layup with 16 seconds to go pulled the Buckeyes (10-7, 2-4 Big Ten) within 65-64. But the game went to the line from there. John Tonje paced the Badgers (14-3, 4-2) with 17 points. Thornton led the Buckeyes with 21 points. But the Devin Royal was the only other OSU player in double figures with 12.
