Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Detroit Lions fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys. As we the Lions enter the 2024-25 NFL playoffs, SB Nation Reacts surveys return, and this week we have two questions for fans: The Lions are a 9.5-point favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook. What will be the result? The total on the game is 55.5 What will be the result? During the Wild Card round of the playoffs, the home teams convincingly won every game, except for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who were unable to hold off the Washington Commanders. As the lowest seed remaining on the NFC side of the playoffs, the Commanders face off with the No. 1 seeded Lions in Detroit. The betting line for this game opened at Lions -7.5 points, quickly moved to Lions -8.5 points, and by Tuesday morning shifted again to Lions -9.5 points. The reasoning behind the points moving up typically comes down to two things, with the first being changes in personnel (i.e. injuries), but the more likely catalyst for these results being a reaction to bets placed. As bets come in for the Lions to cover the spread, the spread increases to encourage wagers in the other direction. So, with the total spread now near double-digits, we’ve given fans three options to choose from in our first survey. The Lions are a 9.5-point favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook. What will be the result? Lions win and cover Lions win but don’t cover Commanders win As for the second question, the Over/Under is set at 55.5 points, the highest among all four games in the Divisional Round. This total is likely so high because the Lions are the No. 1 scoring offense (average 33.2 points scored per game) in the NFL and the Commanders are the No. 5 scoring offense (28.2 points). With the Lions' defense struggling over the past month (though they dominated in their last game played) and the Commanders' defense being middle of the road (but also weak in areas the Lions find success), this has the makings of a potential shootout. Therefore, for this second question, we give fans two simple choices, will the point total be over or under the projected point total? The total on the game is 55.5 What will be the result? Over 55.5 Under 55.5 And with that, it’s time to vote. Enjoy the next round of the NFL playoffs, and keep an eye out on Saturday morning for the results. Please take our survey
