WHEATON, Md. (DC News Now) -- A high school student was searched on Tuesday after officials heard they brought a BB gun to school. In a letter sent to the Wheaton High School community, Principal Pamela Krawczel said they took "immediate action," searched the student and found the BB gun. After notifying the police, the student was interviewed. "Bringing any type of gun to school is a severe violation of the MCPS Student Code of Conduct and is strictly prohibited. This is a serious offense that compromises the safety and well-being of our entire school community and cannot be tolerated under any circumstances," Krawczel wrote, in part. "While the presence of any weapon on campus is deeply concerning, we want to commend the students who reported this incident," Krawczel continued.
